Just was patient, played good, and picked my spots - almost pissed it away HU to pushmonkey72, but recovered and got it in good with AK>A9 to hold for practically all the chippies...

Playing this was so different than playing the Spewday tourneys, though. The Mookie has evolved over the last couple of years since the eponymous founder pulled his J.D Salinger move offline. I'm interested to see where it goes for the rest of 2010.

T-minus two weeks to Ireland trip. Wifey got it in her head to watch Leap Year tonight to see some preview scenery. Amy Adams is scenery in and of herself, and I couldn't get past watching Ozymandias as the Irish innkeeper - but pfft what a forgettable movie.

But the countryside looked good. So I guess this should be fun.

well, that was a lot of fun, 45+ players in both tourneys, with some different CardRunners faces and whatnot...

which is why both CK and I managed to spew stacks into Bazuko by level 2 in the main tourney and gift him an assload of chips. At least she flopped TPTK vs. a set.

I decided to make a move and C/R out of position - in a raised pot - on a AK7 flop - with KTs - and jam a blank turn - and ran into AQs. LOL. That was horribad. At least I jammed it all away. I obv need to fastplay more monsters to balance my range, or some shit like that.

Anyhow, final tabled the superturbo (WTF?) when I never play these things - managed to jam 99 into AA, and AJ into AQ and KK, to bubble in 7th and miss any mobney.

But hey, if the fields are like this, I'll spend S17.60 on this again.

In other news, not sure I like the WSOP broadcasts educating the masses on what the hijack is. I expect to hear every TV noob using the term now. Sigh.

so here's how I suck:

AIPS rebuy, I'm in for $30 because...

EP limps, I raise w. QQ, they jam 80BB, I call, AKo hits the flop.
I raise in MP with AK, BB jams for 40BB, I call, I can't get there v. AA.

So it was a very loose, standard rebuy period... :)

I spew early in the second hour when I make a move with T6o, reraise a button raise from the big blind and lede jam a K6x flop for a pot-size bet. Hey, it works unless you run into KJo or something like that.... I gift Cosenza chips, finish 33 of 42, pffft.


Mookie, I do tarp and flat AA from the blinds to a Rambler's button raise and double through v. TT on an undercard board... and I never win a substantial pot after that. I decide to call off v veryjosie's jam after I lede a QJ7 rainbow flop with AK in a raised pot HU for about 22BB effective... and can't get there v. KQs. 13 of 23.

I'm going with the wifey and babygirlheff to Ireland for a week in August on vacation... a long planned vacation... so whomever wants to donate to the vacation fund, pls to be folding when I bet in the next few weeks, pls.... :-0

Pretty lame showing overall. I should have played someone HU to make up the $50, lol.

So this is what happens when the 12-year olds in the house demand to play poker....

I deal four-handed. Stepdaughter and her cousin get to the river on some random board - AK398 or something like that, no flush possible.

Stepdaughter donks T25 into a T50 pot on the river.

Cousin (who just started playing) raises to T100 after the stepbrother tells her to, trying to help her out.

Cousin rolls over Q2o, stepbrother says she has a straight.

I chuckle, point out you can't wrap straights around the Ace, they both go "oh!"

So you can value-raise Queen high on the river, but only when you're playing a 12-year old maniac.

Other random thoughts for discussion:

-Is Ellen Page this generation's Jodie Foster? I have no idea why this silly connection entered my head, except they both seem to have a out-of-step, arty approach to their acting career in their early 20s. Then again, there are those really annoying Cisco commercials on the flip side...

- Keeping track of the WSOP ME, but for some reason, it just feels really distant to me right now. Not sure why- I think it will be more interesting as the week progresses...

- BabyGirlHeff is a crazy charmer heading into her ninth month. Go figure.

- Scotch is the tastiest of all rail liquors.

- I am a master of building up a cash NLHE stack, but only after stacking off once, so I really never get anywhere playing ring games...

- Why is it every time I decide to make a move in a ring game and make a three or four-bet preflop I always run into AA? Never KK one time....

- Going 1-30 in SnGs when you are a profitable player is the most annoying kind of variance.

-took down the VeryJosie (14 players) - since it's a once-monthly tourney, that's kind of nice, since it doesn't come around every week. Nothing notable, nitted up until the final table, then smashed some hands and spots, played big stack poker FTW. At least now I don't feel bad about posting the tourney on the sidebar since I am a WINNAR now and whatnot... nice that the host went from Gigli to the winnerwinnerchicken dinner in the...

- Mookie, where I actually made the money one time (18 players, finished 3rd) although I didn't really pay attention to the final table b/c I was playing a couple of bloggers HU in a challenge (I said FOR ROLLZ and was actually serious, but I ended up at a 50NL table when they bought in for the minimum at $17.50.)

I stacked a couple of bloggers and then spewed it all to a third blogger running TP into a better kicker and a pair/OESD/flush draw into the flopped nutz on the turn.

Since I'm accused of bragging, bitching, and whining too much on my own fucking blog, I'll save the details for another day. It involved mad suckouts, misclicks, and people crowing about $2 worth of rake while I was spiking the nizzles, naturally.

It was pretty entertaining, though, and the most fun I've had around a Mookie in months.

So yeah, it was silly spewing $35 profit and a $20 buyin HU - but I said I was going to sit and play people, that'll happen.

But hey, +80$ for two blogger MTTs, I guess that's OK in the big picture.

nothing really major to update... I play a couple of Mookies and either

-watch Goat float/jam with shite because he could give a rat's ass about a non-BBT Mookie... and get there every time.
I loved how a limped BvB pot with the wifey ended up with her A2 on a 345 flop running into his 62o. The one time he needs the second nizzles he's got it.

-run into the virtual nizzles pre and get into AQ/KK or AK/QQ type of flips and not get there.

I just sigh every time and immediately fire up some PLO8 tables, get back to the mini-grind and make a C-note or two.

otherwise, nothing of note is happening, I have nothing good or bad to report. Just bleh. I grind, I make some bucks, it feels like work. Rinse and repeat.

Holiday weekend coming up. Going to head down to my parents in Virginia Beach and re-introduce them to their granddaughter, so I'll miss the initial opening here... I have a feeling this room will be a clusterfuck initially.... Even though this thread is going to shit, I just have a bad read on it regardless. I would like to try it out next week, but I'm going to let everyone else beta test it first.
